My name is Bao Yang and I was born in Laos.  I have lived in many countries such as Thailand, France, and French Guiana before settling in Minnesota (USA).  I graduated from the University of Concordia, St. Paul, MN with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education - State of Minnesota:  Licensed to teach ELL, K – 12.  I also have my Master's degree of Education:  Teaching and Learning from the University of Saint Mary, Winona, MN.

In more than 15 years in education, I have had the opportunity to serve in a wide variety of educational settings, whether in the pull out or inclusion models, and consistently enjoyed the challenges with which I have been confronted.  I strongly believe that it takes the collaborative efforts of staff, parents, and students to create a safe learning community.  Educational excellence is built from the sharing of ideas, gifts, talents, and strengths of all stakeholders.

Excelling as a reading instructor, collaborating with colleagues, pursuing best education practices, passion of providing teachers and students the tools to succeed:  these are just a few of the assets I bring to your organization/school as an English Language Learner (ELL) teacher.

Here are some highlights of my qualifications and accomplishments:
